This home, which was designed for a family of three, is located in the middle of Muncie, Indiana and pushes the boundaries of what is considered the “everyday home”. Using inspiration from around the world, this project explored the design language of excavation with the design operations of the container and the contained. The clients, who are renowned archeologists, wanted their passion to project from their home allowing the architects to emphasize the excavation and the unearthing of unique architectural features. While some may think that the best treasures are found in the most exotic places of the world, others may argue that the best treasures can be found inside of the home.
