Embrace
Culture & Community Center

Embrace Culture & Community Center celebrates the idea of a community gathering in a public space and using their voices to empower the world around them to become a better place. The architecture of this building reflects this goal with a stainless steel superskin “exhibits characteristics of its type to an extreme or excessive degree” and wraps itself around the building. This wrapping creates a series of public and private nests that maximize different views of both the city and architectural spaces. While traveling through the building, guests are introduced to a series of spaces and programs that challenge social norms and introduce them to a variety of experiences as they go up the open-air greenway stairs. Even though all of the programs are critical to the make-up of Embrace, there are three spaces in particular that are most critical. These spaces include the auditorium, the library, and the three community spaces. These programs allow the community to gather and share their experiences in open and welcoming spaces while also giving the community a space for collaboration, unification, and celebration. These spaces will give Cincinnati a place to not only use their voice but to learn, acknowledge, and grow, providing a safe space for the community and calling for them to share their story at Embrace.
